In reality, they lost much more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"para-text p-md\">Within 3 years:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>insulation started cracking<\/li>\n<li>UV exposure hardened the jacket<\/li>\n<li>strings began failing<\/li>\n<li>connectors overheated<\/li>\n<li>inverters tripped frequently<\/li>\n<li>generation losses piled up<\/li>\n<li>moisture ingress caused faults<\/li>\n<li>the plant had to undergo shutdown, cable replacement and reinstallation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"para-text p-md\">The losses quickly escalated into several lakhs, far outweighing the mere \u20b930,000 saved at the beginning.
